From Chicago to St. Charles, this is shaping up to be a busy weekend! There is a ton to do for everyone, make sure to add some of these activities to the books so this amazing weekend doesn’t go to waste. When littles are happy parents are worry free!

Book Club’s Panda Love at Wicker Park and West Town Lit Fest: Zelda is a Mr. Dave groupie! Anywhere Mr. Dave goes she will follow, and this time Book Club is bringing him in for Panda Love at the Wicker Park and West Town Lit Fest! Book Club is a new space in Wicker Park for littles (starting at Pre-K) and grown-ups who love to read. On Sunday, September 18th Mr. Dave will begin at 11am, along with some artsy stuff for the babes and panda themed books! Huge bonus: this event is free for the whole family!
Toymaker 3000 Exhibit at MSI: Gotta admit, I selfishly want to go to this myself because it sounds like so much fun! The Museum of Science and Industry is one of our favorite museums, their kids floor is outstanding and a favorite of Zelda’s without a doubt. Every time they have a new kids exhibit we hit it up, the last one we went to was about Legos and it was crazy cool. At the Toymaker 3000 Exhibit babes can watch how toys are made start to finish, showing them the journey their favorite toys go on before they end up in their hands! Directions and ticket info are found here.
Mom & Baby Yoga at Monica & Andy: For mamas and littles (up to 10 months ) who love to move, Mom & Baby Yoga at Monica & Andy‘s shop is an exciting way to spend time together. The class takes place on Monday, September 19th at 11:30am and is $10. Be sure to sign up here. After class wraps take a peek at M&A’s fall line that just came out, it’s rad!
Farmers Market at the MCA: Every Tuesday in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art there’s a Farmer’s Market that Zelda and I love to visit every once in a while. It goes from 7am to 2pm and it’s a nice change of scenery from our usual Division Street spot. It’s also an opportune time to pop into the MCA and see what’s new!
World Music Festival at Millennium Park: This is another outstanding family event to put on the books for Saturday, September 17th. The tunes will kick off at 3pm in Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion, with this round featuring music from Colombia! It’s a good idea to bring a blanket so there’s a comfy place for babes to pass out if they have too much fun.
Adoption Event at Dylan’s Candy Bar: Two of our favorite things — Dylan’s Candy Bar and dogs! Dylan’s on Michigan Avenue teamed up with PAWS for this event, which will have over 40 dogs on site in need of loving homes. No RSVP is required for the event on Saturday, September 18th (12pm – 4pm). And as if this deal needs sweetening, Dylan’s is giving attendees a free scoop of ice cream!
St. Charles is an easy option for a quick weekend getaway from the city, clocking in at just an hour outside of Chicago. This quaint little spot has plenty to explore, check out some of the attractions that caught our eye and have made their way onto our list!

Hickory Knolls Discovery Center: This outdoor haven is a stunning place to keep the babes entertained and get some fresh air. They’ve got a great roster of live animals that the whole family will love — think rabbits, snakes and turtles.
Pottawatomie Park: Pottawatomie Park is another beautiful space that should be taken advantage of while it’s still nice out! Pedal boats and canoes can be rented for a fee, and those with fishing licenses can spend some time trying their skills!
