We’re only about a week out from Father’s Day, which means it’s time to figure out something freaking cool for the dads in your life. And if you have zero idea what to get your guy or dad, this post is for you. You can thank me later!

I’ve gotta say, putting together a thoughtful gift is usually a cinch for me, but my wonderful husband Spiro is a whole different story. I actually think men in general tend to be more difficult to shop for, but Spiro is even harder. For example, every year I think I nail this amazing gift, only to have Spiro forget about it almost instantly. Not because he doesn’t appreciate it, he just doesn’t get excited about presents the way I do (weirdo). So year after year this holiday rolls around and I end up stressing over what to get him for weeks, even months. Believe me, I’ve tried it all!

Zelda and I went the homemade art route last year which was cute, but I knew I wanted something with more pizazz this time around. Which brought me back a few years to when I created a personalized rap – one of the only gifts I remember Spiro loving. That probably sounds super weird, but it was a serious hit in our relationship. I figured I should try to create something similar – but spruced up – to see if I could get a similar response. Around then it dawned on me…what if I could make a video? I mean, that’d be pretty awesome, right?!

Enter: UrLife Media and what I’ve decided on for Father’s Day this year.

I’ve gotta say, this company is freaking amazing. You can basically create your personal version of a Hollywood feature film using their app. Think a short montage-esq video with added little animations and special edits featuring dear old dad. And the best part is that it’s so, so simple. All you have to do is download the app (there’s a few examples at this link if you’re questioning how cool this is), click on the footage you want to upload, add notes for the editors, and bam, you’re pretty much done. Even the technically-challenged mamas can accomplish this, I promise you, and your children will love helping.

When making my video for Spiro, I tried to personalize and tailor it specifically to him. This meant spotlighting his absolutely crazy personality (if you follow me on Stories, you know exactly what I’m talking about). Doing something wild was just key for him, but you can cater this to whoever in a variety of ways. For example, if your guy likes golf, maybe you compile some videos of him golfing with the kids and friends. He’ll feel like the next Tiger, I guarantee it. Or maybe it’s just clips of him being goofy with the family. It can be ANYTHING, just make it personal to him. Make him feel special and like the star of the show – literally.
