Ready or not, the holidays are here! I’m a big lover of the holiday season and getting together with my entire family to celebrate. But this year is going to be the first year in my entire life that I’m not going to be with my extended family on Christmas. Because of the big move to Aspen, we decided to do things a bit different this year, so instead, just my immediate family is coming to Colorado and staying at our new home.

It’s still going to be absolutely wonderful, but it got me thinking about what I could do to make it feel how Christmas used to when I was a kid and we’d all get together. Then it hit me – I had to go vintage!

How to get your Christmas decor on eBay.

You see, my grandma worked at a department store when I was a kid and every year after the holidays, she would get to take any extra gift wrap home. I specifically remember this giant roll of poinsettia-decorated wrapping paper. I think that paper lasted my family through most of the 80s the roll was so big. But every time I see something similar, all these memories just come flooding back. That’s exactly what I want the feeling to be for Christmas this year!

And what’s a better place for anything vintage than eBay?

I knew between eBay’s Home Decor and Home & Garden sections, I was going to be able to find everything I needed to put together the perfect vintage-inspired Christmas. I mean, I found vintage gift wrap, vintage ribbon and vintage felt ornaments (remember these?!) and gift toppers. It was 1980s Christmas paradise.

As for the tree, we went for the ever-popular flocked option this year. It felt right with all the vintage gifts and adornments surrounding it. You can snag one for yourself on eBay, too if you’ve been searching for the perfect tree. They had tons of options and sizes. And don’t forget the faux fur skirt!
