Pantone’s color of the year is Ultra-Violet! While Zelda is usually partial to pink, she occasionally leans towards purple and we’ve been gathering a little inspiration on how to incorporate this mysterious shade into our everyday lives. Ultra-violet was the main color used in Zelda’s Zelda Kaplan Halloween costume, which was all too fitting. Ultra-violet has been used by creative geniuses for years (think Prince, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix), so it’s no surprise we associated style icon Zelda Kaplan with this hue.
Zelda in Pantone's Color of the Year: Ultra Violet.
As our inspiration for Zelda’s name, she was a woman who wanted every girl to know her worth and wasn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. Her eclectic style and electric personality set her apart from others on the New York fashion scene.
Living room home decor using Pantone's color of the year: ultra violet.
Ultra-violet makes a statement no matter how it is used. We love the idea of incorporating it into furniture and other home accessories. We’re thinking we might need to find a spot for this chandelier! Additionally, ultra-violet was out in abundance during New York Fashion Week. From ethereal gowns at Carolina Herrera to menswear inspired velvet ensembles on Gucci’s runway, this hue is here to stay. (At least for the next year!) How will you incorporate this bold color into your life?
