Zelda and I fell in love with Swissotel during the holidays last year, when we visited their insane Santa Suite. Since then we have been waiting for another opportunity to visit, and when I offered to take on my girlfriend’s son for the weekend only to find out a few days later that I would be doing it solo, I knew a staycation was the answer.
We felt like Beyonce and Blue Ivy when we arrived with a very special sweet welcome and the kid’s names lit up! This special suite has an apartment style setup, so grownups can crash in the spacious bedroom and the kiddos can hang out in the attached area that works perfectly as play space. The interior is bright and fun filled – it’s packed with blocks, coloring books, games and an adorable teepee (and SO much more) to occupy the kids. We all know that being in a hotel room can be a bit cumbersome when traveling with kids, but this room is literally filled with so much excitement it was difficult to get them to leave!
The hotel also offers a ton of upgrade options that allow you personalize your stay to make it memorable. Since we were checking in on National Waffles day, we obviously needed an extra special dinner to celebrate. We decided to have a chicken and waffles picnic in the room, it was adorable, delicious, and a lot easier than going out to dinner with two tiny toddlers. After dinner we hit the pool and when we came back we were greeted with a special turn down service – margaritas for mom and cake pops for the kids. We also received a pair of tickets to go to the aquarium the next day which was especially appreciated because I had not made any plans yet.
The kids slept the best that they’ve ever slept, which was amazing for me because I was beat from having two kids. Hey, I’m a mom of one, I don’t have that whole multi-kid thing down yet. The next morning, we woke up, had breakfast at the hotel and hit up the Shedd Aquarium. It was so amazing and such a perfect stay. The only thing I had to do was show up and they took care of us in a way that I have never experience at a hotel. I’ve never seen kids catered to in this fashion. If you’re looking to take a trip to the city, have a staycation or celebrate that special birthday, the Swissotel is an incredible option. They are super welcoming and will definitely create a stay you’ll never forget! Make your reservation today.
