I have become obsessed with trying masks. With my busy schedule, a mask is something easy I can do at home that still feels like “me time” and if needed, can be done while multitasking. It’s important to carve out those little moments for myself, even though sometimes Zelda wants in on the mask action! Who can blame her? Which mask do you think is the right fit for you? Tell me in the comments below.

The best of beauty: which masks to try now.

WHY I LOVE THEM

Bliss: Radiance Revealing Revitalizing Mask ($30)

This quick and easy mask was so much fun! It hardens and peels, and when Zelda peeled it off my face she thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. My face felt super refreshed, and while it says it takes twenty minutes, we finished in about ten.

Aveda: Tulasara Overnight Wedding Masque ($65)

I tried this for the first time during a facial and fell in love. My skin was so supple and glowed for days. Somewhere between a mask and a moisturizer, I put it on before bed, go to sleep and wake up with smoother, brighter and firmer skin. I also feel good about using it because it’s 97% naturally-derived.

La Mer: The Intensive Revitalizing Mask ($170)

Whenever I talk about La Mer the number one question I get is, “Is it really worth the price?” The answer is absolutely. And while it does come with a hefty price tag, a little goes a long way so it’s not like I’m running out and buying it every three months. Made with their coveted Miracle Broth, this mask revitalizes the skin in only eight minutes. I stopped using La Mer over a three-week period because I ran out and after the first week I could tell my skin was suffering. It infuses the skin with a youthful radiance and I will never let myself run out of it again.

Fresh: Rose Face Mask ($62)

This is another super refreshing mask that infuses moisture into the skin. I like to use this if my skin is feeling sensitive (or if it’s hot out) because it has a lovely cooling sensation. It’s like giving my skin a giant drink of water. It gets bonus points for being made with rose petals!

GlamGlow: Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment ($69)

Do not use this if you have sensitive skin. If you have normal to oily skin, this will make all your exfoliating dreams come true. Made with volcanic rock, I love how my face feels after I use this. It removes every bit of dead skin and only takes ten minutes. Don’t forget, it’s important to have an exfoliating treatment in your skincare routine (even if it’s not a mask). If you don’t, you’re just putting your cleansers, moisturizers and serums over your dead skin, which does nothing for your face. Gross, but true!

Kiehl’s: Pollutant Defending Masque ($32-$39)

Whenever I travel to a place where the air pollution is high I pack this in my bag. There’s nothing worse than walking around in heavily polluted air and getting back to the hotel only to feel the dirty air has hitched a ride on my skin. I immediately use this and my face thanks me. It’s filled with antioxidants that bring back much needed nutrients to my skin.

Tony Moly: Intense Care Snail Hydro Gel Mask ($8)

A friend of mine living abroad turned me onto to snail mucus masks (don’t knock it until you try it!). Popular in Korea, it is said these sheet masks are best used 2-3 times per month but I use them about one once a month, and it infuses my skin with moisture. They create a protective barrier around the skin and aren’t slimy or sticky (a common misconception). The consistency is more like a serum and when I finish with the mask, I massage the remaining residue into my skin. The best part? They’re only $8 apiece.

Origins: Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores ($26)

The first time I used this mask I was blown away by how clean my skin felt. The charcoal acts like a magnet to remove anything clogging the pores. Try this and your blemishes will thank you. You can thank me later!

Herbivore: Pineapple Enzyme Brighten Instant Glow Mask ($48)

This vegan mask is a relaxing brightening treatment. It’s very gentle and works well for sensitive skin. Made with fruit enzymes, tourmaline and rice powder, it also smells amazing.

Kiehl’s: Energizing Radiance Masque ($32-$39)

I love using this mask when I need a very gentle exfoliation. The tiny cranberry seeds work to remove dead skin and the mask tightens as it dries. To maximize brightening, I recommend applying moisturizer after use.
