I know the weather is a little touch and go at this time of year, (unless you live somewhere perpetually warm that is, and if so, lucky you!) but it is time to at least start thinking about swimwear. And that’s not a bad thing, because that means warm weather is coming!
One swimsuit does not fit all so it’s important to know your body type when you are shopping for swimwear, and what compliments your shape best. Not sure what body type you have?
Once you’ve got your body type figured out, head right over to Londo Mondo to find your perfect suit! And wouldn’t it better if you went there with a $100 gift card? Just comment below and tell me what suit you would by from Londo Mondo and why for the chance to win!

Must be 18 years or older to enter and a U.S. resident. Contest ends 4/1/15 at 12pm CST.
If you have an athletic build, angled stripes are your friend. They will help create curves and nip you in at the waist. If you’d like to create the illusion of a fuller bust, add some ruffles up top.
For a pear shaped build, bottoms that come up a bit higher on both your waist and your legs will elongate your figure and make you look taller and leaner. Skip tops that show a lot and focus on showing off your waist!  Another easy trick is color blocking, opt for a darker color on the bottom and lighter color up top.
For those of you with killer curves (aka an hourglass shape), a suit with a bustier top or a one piece is a great option for you, it will help keep you in place. Retro styles are always your go-to!
If you’re on the petite side, stay away from florals and go for bright colors and bold prints. Tops with ruffles and fringe are your best friend!
If you’re expecting, I know how hard this is to find the motivation to put on a swimsuit! I love Seraphine for beachwear, they have so many great options for mamas to be. But don’t feel like you have to wear maternity! I went with a non-maternity bikini, and just made sure that there was no underwire so that it didn’t cut into my bump! Comfort is key. Bottoms with a band are also great because they will expand with your bump.
Not ready for a swimsuit just yet? I’ve got you covered. We’ve all gotten that last minute pool party invite, and just weren’t feeling it. You want to go and hang out with your friends, but you have no desire to show off your bod. Enter the cover-up. You can dress comfortably for the weather and look appropriate, all while lounging poolside!

In those first few weeks of summer it can be difficult to be beach ready. You haven’t built up your faux glow, and maybe you haven’t been as vigilant about your workout as you would have liked. Don’t stress! Go for an option that keeps you covered and looking cool. Wearing a darker color on your bottom half is always flattering!

When you’re at swim lessons, you want to have all of your attention on your little one. You don’t want to be  worried about whether or not your swim top is staying in place. I bought a one-piece and I LOVE it! It’s cute and functional, a win-win in my book. One-pieces have come a LONG way!!

Pool parties are the time to break out the bright colors, cutouts and prints. If there was a time for a swimsuit fashion dare, this would be it! Have fun with it, wear something you love and feel comfortable in!
