On this particular Saturday Zelda and I had a very full day. We took a little trip west to snap some sweet pics with this fun mural, which was packed with so many bright, feel good colors. I chose a black jumpsuit for a few reasons that day: the first being that I love black. It always feels so right and I can brighten it up with punches of color. Mamas, jumpsuits are the BEST because you can run around in them without exposing yourself, which is reason enough in itself to wear them. If you’re still a little uneasy, check out some tips here! My love for them grows with each passing trip to the playground.
Okay, now Zelda’s outfit. I was seriously squealing with excitement when she got dressed that morning. The dress, the jacket, the boots, I mean come on. Everything about it (and Z!) was just too cute. I almost couldn’t handle it. Almost.
Her sweet bunny dress is by Chicago based Lola And The Boys, which has so many awesome pieces. Both the girls and boys collections are darling, so make sure you sweep that when you’re hunting for spring pieces. I don’t think you’ll regret it! While it was pretty gorgeous out that day, I still made Zelda take a jacket. She chose her black faux fur, I’d say I’ve taught her well! It goes without saying that Docs were going to be a part of our day, as Zelda’s (and my own) obsession continues. Zelda gives me about a four minute window to do her hair in the mornings, and somehow I was able to make pigtails happen, and I’m so glad! I absolutely love them, though Zelda is selective about how often she sports them.
When we arrived it wasn’t the wall that mesmerized Zelda, but the puddles. It had rained the night before and puddles of all sizes were everywhere! So the stomping, kicking and dancing ensued! It was magical and I couldn’t help but love it. Except for the fact that after our shoot, we were heading to an Easter egg hunt and brunch! So once the shoot wrapped we rushed home, did a quick change and ran out the door. When we arrived we quickly found out it was all for nothing, the egg hunt was the next day, I had gotten the day wrong! I know I’m not the only one this has happened too, and all you can do is laugh at yourself, right mamas?!
