It appears everyone loves Zelda’s outfit round ups and I’m so glad because I love them too! This is going to be a regular installment on the site. I will share tips on why we put pieces together, what makes us choose them, where I get them and where the good deals are. I want to share all my secrets because they aren’t really secrets, it is just what I do. But since you don’t know them, I guess they are secrets after all! I want to have fun with this — please comment below with anything you want to see and I’ll try to make it happen.

A toddler wears a fur hat with fur boots in Chicago.

We like to call this look Après Ski x Burning Man. Zelda has rocked these boots more than I ever imagined she would and it makes me so happy because they weren’t cheap! When it comes to buying kids’ designer items I am extremely selective. It needs to last longer than one season, see more than one wear and ideally, be purchased secondhand.

When I bought these Christian Dior boots last year, they were way too big for Zelda. I did this intentionally, so she could grow into the boots. If you see a once in a lifetime deal on something that doesn’t quite fit, my philosophy is buy it! You little one can always grow into it and I’m so happy I snagged these boots. She has worn these more than any other boots in her closet and people constantly stop us on the street to talk about them. I wish they were in my closet!

A toddler wearing a purple princess costume with matching shoes and a tiara.

The princess phase has arrived, and I love it! A few weeks ago, Zelda pointedly asked me for a Princess Sophia dress with shoes and a crown. We immediately jumped on Amazon, ordered her princess gear via Prime (because who can wait?!) and girl has been rocking this every single morning. Watching Zelda evolve in this magical way has been such a gift. I cannot wait to see where her dress up closet goes – I’ve been building it for quite some time and she doesn’t even know it exists yet. Stay tuned, it will make its appearance very soon!

A Fendi Micro Bug Backpack.

To bring a monochromatic look to life, make sure one of the pieces has texture. For instance, Zelda’s top has a lace detail on the shoulders which gives it a little oomph, so it doesn’t fall flat. We paired her all navy ensemble with a patent leather peach loafer from Zara. These shoes are cute and perfect for spring. Don’t be afraid to purchase fashion forward shoes for your child. It’s a wonderful place to pop an unexpected detail, and a fabulous shoe never hurt anyone!

A metallic backpack for a toddler.

Get ready, I’m about to share a super Target tip. Target has a new collection for boys and girls from Afton Street and it is by far the best kids’ collection I’ve ever seen there. It is filled with super stylish basics that are all under $25. I was overwhelmed by how awesome it was and bought almost the complete collection – and I’m so glad I did because it is going fast! Can we also take a moment to talk about how awesome her new VANS are? Thank you, VANS, for making a comfy shoe for girls with tulle! They are perfection.
