Surprise mom with something special this year and make her a rad gift for Mother’s Day! Tie-dyed and personalized towels are the perfect present, she will think of you every time she sees them, and she will LOVE that you took the time to make her something awesome. To make this DIY you need three towels, a tie-dye kit, a rubber band, plastic bags, iron-on letters, and an iron. To tie-dye towels, decide on the type of pattern you want to make (using the instructions in the kit), and then rubber band the blanket accordingly. Once you have the towels rubber-banded, add water to the dye. You’ll want to make sure that all of the dye is dissolved. Apply the dye in the color scheme of your choice.
After you’ve completely saturated the towels in the dye, place them in a plastic bag and let them sit for 6-8 hours. After the allotted amount of time has passed, place the towels in the washing machine. Once they are washed, allow them to air dry. To create personalized towels, heat the iron and arrange the iron-on letters on the towel. Apply the iron to the letters for 20-30 seconds, or until the film on the letters is easy to remove. Peel off the film, and allow to cool. Fold the towels and give to your mom, add her favorite flowers for an extra special touch!
