Warmer weather is on its way and Zelda and I are dreaming of an easy road trip! Nashville’s on our list and we found two spots you’re sure to love if you’re heading that way. If you’re staying in the city this weekend, there is plenty going on. CPS students have a long three day weekend so that means you need to start planning your activities now. When the sun finally makes its arrival, be sure to get out there and enjoy it!

Macy’s Flower Show: Can you believe it’s already time for the Flower Show?! This year’s theme is Carnival, and from the photos I’ve seen I don’t think it will disappoint. It’s free, and only at the Macy’s on State Street through April 9th.
Charley Harper for Nod Event: A little out on the calendar but worth marking is the Charley Harper for Nod event on Saturday, April 15th. This free event is at the North and Clybourn location and will get those creative juices flowing.
Open Jump at Pump It Up: There is no school for CPS students on Friday, and we recommend heading to Pump It Up. They are offering an open jump at various times on Friday for only $12 per child. You do need to sign up ahead of time, which you can do here.
Impulse Installation at Navy Pier: This awesome installation just went in at Polk Brother Park in Navy Pier, and it’s not to be missed! It features a bunch of large seesaws that light up and make sounds — Zelda and I can’t wait to check it out! (This is free too!)
Great White Shark Movie at Museum of Science and Industry: It’s the last call to see this Great White Shark movie at the Omnimax Theater at the MSI, so take your shark obsessed babe now if it’s been on your list! It closes on April 23rd, get tickets here!
Family Class at Chicago Botanic Garden: On Saturday, April 8th the Chicago Botanic Garden is offering one of their family classes. This weekend is Gumballs & Superballs where participants will learn about the rainforest and what can be created from it (those with latex allergies should skip this). Get full details here!
Craving a change of scenery? You can make this road trip happen in under eight hours if you’re feeling adventurous.

Adventure Science Center: This amazing museum has a little bit of everything, from beekeeping to physics — it’s a fantastic way to spend an afternoon with little explorer babes!
Loveless Cafe: Everything on this menu is mouthwatering. There’s so much to choose from, I don’t know how you could pick just one. We recommend going with the intention of sharing!
