Mother’s Day Salsa Dance Class at Duet Dance Studio
Mamas, if you want to get out and move on Mother’s Day this class is for you! Suitable for babes over five years old, this class gives the two of you a sampling of how to salsa dance. Don’t worry, if neither of you have set foot on the dance floor it’s okay! The class takes place this Sunday, May 8th from 12:30p – 1:45p and tickets are $15.00.
Spring Flower Show at the Lincoln Park Conservatory
If the flowers popping up around the city aren’t enough for you, stop into the Lincoln Park Conservatory to get your fill. Their Spring Flower Show is coming to a close on Mother’s Day so if you want to see it be sure to get there this weekend! For mamas who love spending time in their garden this would be the perfect weekend outing. Littles will love all of the bright beautiful blooms that fill the space, it’s truly a treasure! This outing is free and open from 9am – 5pm.
Van Gogh’s Bedrooms
This one is ideal for the babe who loves art, but you’ll want to get there soon as this exhibit is almost over! From now until Tuesday, May 10th you and your little artist can see the collection of Van Gogh’s series of Bedroom pieces (they have 36!) before they leave us. Added bonus — kids under 14 are free!
Half Pint Pop-Up Shop
If you’re not familiar with the awesomeness that is Half Pint Shop, this is the opportunity to acquaint yourself. They are a locally run online kids shop, and they have the raddest clothes from brands that if you haven’t already fallen in love with, you soon will. Half Pint is doing a pop-up shop in A Little Photo Studio so be sure you and your little stop by for some new spring threads. It’s going on now through Sunday, May 15th. Just call to double check hours as A Little Photo Studio does private events. Oh, and did we mention, A Little Photo Studio has a milk and cookie bar for the babes? You’re welcome!
Radio Flyer Pop-Up Shop
For the first time ever, Radio Flyer is doing a pop-up shop! The fun will take place this Saturday, May 7th at Skokie’s Old Orchard Mall. If you know you want one of their awesome pieces but aren’t sure which, this is your opportunity to test them out and find the right fit for your babe. A photo booth wagon will be on site, and to celebrate the occasion they are offering free shipping on “Build-A” orders placed at the pop-up!
Sips & Smocks
Local fave Monica & Andy have opened up a pop-up shop in Oakbrook Center Mall through June 30th, and with it comes super fun events for babes! Suburban mamas, cutting off that commute time to the city means after your little finishes their art class with Sips & Smocks you can spend a little time shopping and maybe even pick up a little something for yourself! The class takes place on Wednesday, May 11 from 10:30am – 11:15am and you’ll want to register here.

Recently opened, this restaurant is the destination for hip mamas and their babes. Their menu looks stellar and the gorgeous space has relaxed chic Cali vibes, the perfect way to spend an afternoon. It also boasts a magical looking play space for the kids and a diverse calendar filled with events. Prices vary, you can peep their menu right here.
La Brea Tar Pits
The Tar Pits are a cool place to venture! You’ll get a peek at treasures from the past, right in the middle of the city! This is the place to go if your child is super into animals that no longer roam, because these tar pits were around when animals like saber tooth cats ruled, and they left their fossils to tell us their story. Think educational and miles from boring. Ticket prices range from $5 – $19.
