We have been traveling to Wisconsin a lot lately to embrace new adventures (with varying outcomes) but this weekend we’re going to take it easy in the Chi. Once this weekend ends, I feel like we all need to accept that fall is coming, but don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to have a last hurrah and send summer off with a bang.

Back to School Party at LegoLand: If you have a little in CPS, make the most of the last weekend before school starts at Legoland’s bash! It runs Saturday through Monday and houses a ton of different activities. Take a look at the schedule here to decide what day you want to venture out and buy tickets here!
Story Time at Barnes and Noble: Gold Coast’s Barnes & Noble (at State and Elm) is hosting story time featuring Uni the Unicorn’s sequel, “Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True”. Story time kicks off on Saturday, September 2nd at 11am and afterwards you can grab a snack in the cafe.
Crafting at American Girl: American Girl hosts a craft event each month (the first Wednesday) so mark your calendars if you can’t make this one on September 6th! Babes who are eight and older will enjoy this most, and the fun lasts from 3-5pm.
Fall Cooking Classes at The Kids’ Table: With the changing seasons comes a change in what is available at the farmers market! Starting Tuesday the 5th, The Kids’ Table begins their “Harvest Time” cooking classes. They have various age brackets and you can do a single class or a set of four at either of their locations.
Murakami Exhibit at the MCA: If you haven’t seen this exhibit yet, consider this your reminder. It closes on Sunday, September 24th so pick a date!
Free Museum Admission: Until tomorrow, Saturday September 2nd, you and your crew can catch the end of free museum week! Kids need to show a school ID to take advantage of this awesome opportunity. Check out the full list of participating museums here.
Last weekend we traveled just outside of Kenosha to hit up the Renaissance Faire and per usual it was a blast. I’m so happy Zelda loves it as much as I do.

Bristol 45 Diner: This old school diner is the perfect place to stop if you need a snack before you hit the road. It’s on our bucket list!
Renaissance Faire: We LOVE the Renaissance Faire and go once a year. Zelda loves seeing everyone dressed up in Renaissance garb and wanted to join in on the fun! We bought her a costume of her own and she rocked it.
