Jordan Reid grew up in New York City and studied Cognitive Neuroscience at Harvard (um, WOW). After school, she worked as an actress in Los Angeles until she turned 26 and soon returned back to the Big Apple to become a print journalist—until 2007, when the industry collapsed. Despite this CRAZY curve-ball thrown at her career, the situation produced a positive and led her to starting Ramshackle Glam in 2010.
With that, Jordan taught us that– yes, the occasional mini-disasters come along with taking risks, but everything is so worth it! In the years since, she has worked with brands including Dove, Simple Skincare, Timex, Ecco Domani, DKNY, Old Navy, Ann Taylor and Urban Decay. Jordan has also hosted events on behalf of companies including InStyle Magazine, UGG Australia and Macy’s I.N.C.
OK, if that wasn’t enough… she has also written, produced and hosted the shows Jordan In The House, airing on the Meredith Video Studios-produced DIGS Channel and Ramshackle Glam for Allure Magazine. Her first book, Ramshackle Glam: The New Mom’s Haphazard Guide To (Almost) Having It All, was released by Running Press in Spring 2014, and her second book, Carrying On: Style, Beauty, Decor (and More) for the Nervous New Mom, just launched January 2016!
She and her husband Kendrick are in the process of moving from the East Coast to the West Coast with two little dogs, a littler son, and the littlest daughter. This mama is on the move and we’re so excited to have her on Glitter and Bubbles as this week’s Rad Mom!

Little’s Names & Ages: Indie, 4 years & Goldie, 18 months
Top Beauty Product You Must Have as a Mom: It’s not exactly a “product” – but my number one must-have is eyelash extensions. I wrote Carrying On when I was extremely pregnant with my daughter, and it was around then that I discovered this little new-mother miracle-worker: with eyelash extensions, you can just wake up and put on moisturizer, and still look (relatively) pulled together.
Favorite Lipstick Color: For every day, I love Lipstick Queen in Pinky Nude, and my favorite red for nighttime is NARS in Heat Wave – it looks good on everyone.
Top 3 Pieces Of Baby Gear: I call the 4Moms Origami Stroller my “Beyonce Stroller” because it literally draws crowds when I take it out in public; it’s just that cool. Freshly Picked moccasins are unconscionably expensive, but so well-made that they’ll last until your baby sizes up (which should take a while since they also sort of stretch to fit for longer than you’d expect). And finally, the Playskool Rocktivity Rider makes the best baby gift ever – both of my kids started using it when they were around a year old, and three years later my son still loves it.
Favorite Kids Clothing Brand: My favorite new discovery is the brand Chocolate Milke: they make super-soft tie-dyed leggings for baby and toddler girls that are adorable but not too frou-frou.
Activity You Love to Do with Your Littles: Our favorite thing to do is cook together; we do it practically every night. Our favorite thing to make is a simple pasta sauce (mostly, I suspect, because my children eat so much pasta that they are slowly turning into tiny zitis).
Your Secret Obsession When You Get an Hour to Yourself: Honestly? I recently started needlepointing using the DIY kits from my shop, glam camp (www.glamcamp.co), and I’m kind of obsessed. I’ve made so many that I’m starting to have to find more friends to give them away to.
Closet Staple That You Can’t Live Without: Sunglasses. Every day, all the time, don’t care what the weather is.
What is Your Favorite Snack to Make for Your Littles? I’m a crazy microwave popcorn person, but recently started thinking, you know…probably not the healthiest snack choice. And then I discovered homemade microwave popcorn: it’s both healthy (or, ok, healthyish) and so insanely delicious that it’s turned me off of Pop Secret forever. Click here to get the recipe.
