1. How many children do you have? What inspired their names?
I have two sons, Grant who is 2.5 and Gavin who is 9 months.  I had a hard time with boy names and my husband and I wanted strong names that weren’t too popular.  Grant was the first name we came across that we both loved and it stuck.  When I found out I was having my second son, it took us a while to choose a name and we loved the sound of Grant and Gavin together as brothers.
2. What’s your favorite way to spend time with your family?
Weekend time is definitely my favorite family time, for fall we went to the pumpkin patch and it was amazing to see Grant run around and ride the rides and get so excited for Halloween.  In the summer time, I love going to the pool as a family.  Both my sons love the water and they are so happy to be outside.  Overall, we love getting out and doing activities.  Seeing them happy makes me happy.
3. Are there any children’s brands you find yourself buying over and over again?
I do go to Baby Gap quite a bit for the boys. I like that they have little man style but are still comfortable.  Target and Carter’s is great for casual affordable clothing and Ralph Lauren and J. Crew make the best boys stuff for dressier occasions.
4. How has motherhood affected your personal style?
Motherhood hasn’t impacted my personal style too much, the biggest change would probably be that I have to wear flats more on the weekends :)!  I’ve been able to maintain my style and love of dressing up because my husband is patient and watches the kids while I get ready and because I make it a priority.  I find that style is what makes you feel good and since putting myself together makes me feel good, I make time for it.  In addition, since I’m a jewelry designer, my kids are used to seeing me wear at least one piece of statement jewelry.
5. What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
There’s so many things I can’t say there is just one! Watching them grow from a newborn to walking to being a toddler so far has been amazing.  Their giggles, smiles, and playfulness make me happy.  In the short period of being a mom of two boys, I’ve learned that life is so much more than what I thought it was.  It has taught me what’s important in life and all I wish is that they grow up healthy, happy, and kind people.
6. What’s the hardest thing about being a mom?
There are definitely days that I have meltdowns.  The hardest thing for me overall is work/life balance.  I launched my business and had two kids in 3 years and I didn’t take a maternity leave for either boys.  I work a lot, network, go to events, and try to be a great mommy but also grow and manage a business supporting a team.  Sometimes I feel like I’m not great at everything as I feel stretched thin, but this past year I have been making it a priority to make the weekend family time.  I’ve also learned that things can wait!
7. Has your beauty routine changed at all since you’ve had kids?
Beauty wise I’m pretty low maintenance, I can put on makeup in 10 minutes and I’m ok with pulling my hair up in a ponytail.  The main thing I’ve cut out of my routine is receiving a manicure and pedicure.  I don’t have the time or patience to let my nails dry and once I start playing with my kids or picking up my baby, they get smudged anyways.
8. What have you learned from your kids?
Patience and living in the moment.  Grant is very communicative and one minute he will be deliriously happy and the next he will be having a tantrum.  Being patient has been a huge learning experience for me!  And I’m a constant worrier and planner.  Living in the moment and enjoying what’s in front of me has come with having kids.  They are growing up so fast and I want to be in the moment with them.
