One of the things I like about winter is that it gives me a ton of time inside to reinvent and update my home decor. And while I wish I could say I did a major overhaul each year (how amazing would that be?!), I don’t have the time. However, I’ve found by upgrading a few pieces here and there I’m slowly able to freshen up my space. It’s amazing the difference a few details can make! So, whether you decide to go all out or buy a pillow or two, I’ve got a few home décor trends you should know about. You’ll thank me later!
Dark Green
Remember back in 2013 when Pantone announced the color of the year was emerald? If you were a fan four years ago, I’m happy to tell you that dark green is back and this time, it has a moodier twist. Additionally, it works as both a focal point and an accent color.

Celestial Vibes
The sky is the limit with celestial inspired décor! This cosmic trend knows no bounds – let your intuition guide you. Whether you opt for star print or something more zodiac inspired, attention to detail is always recommended.

Plants
Fight seasonal affective disorder by bringing the outdoors in! Greenery will liven up any space (literally) and with so many adorable planters to choose from, how could you not?

Tasseled Touches
Embrace Bohemia and add a few tasseled touches to your space. This works in both child and adult rooms, making it the perfect way to blend two worlds. Bring a little movement to your space!

Rounded Furniture
Say goodbye to sharp edges! This winter, it is all about having curves. Furniture designers are taking a much more rounded approach and we love how cozy it feels.

Velvet
It’s easy to go overboard with velvet – don’t fall into this trap. Stick with one or two pieces and make it a focal point. This works with furniture and pillows alike. We also love the idea of incorporating a few velvet pieces into your holiday décor!

Millennial Pink
This cheerful color is having a major moment and we don’t hate it. There is something so enticing about a pink chair or plate. The biggest challenge might be convincing your significant other that your home needs blush accents.

Precious Stones
I’ll admit it, I have a ton of agate in my home. This is one trend I use even when it is not “in style” because I love it so much. What precious stones will you incorporate into your décor? My obsession all started with a simple set of coasters…

Deep Blue
This color can be anything you make it! It works in a variety of interiors and is a show stopping backdrop for metal accents. We also suggest trying this trend in velvet — it looks ultra-luxe.
