The Oscars

Red carpet season has officially wrapped! The 87th annual Academy Awards were full of fashion hits and misses. From Meryl Streep’s perfectly polished pantsuit to the not so great 1970’s tuxedo worn by Jared Leto, I’m breaking down the best and worst dressed of the Oscars. What were your picks from last night?

Best-DressedOscars_Julianne-Moore

Black and white was a huge trend last night on the carpet, but no one pulled it off better than Julianne Moore. She looked absolutely stunning in this gorgeous Chanel Couture column dress. White is hard to pull off with her skin tone but she nailed it, and her hair and accessories compliment the dress perfectly. This is how Chanel should look on the red carpet.

Oscars_Meryl-Streep

Meryl Streep is known for wearing suits on the red carpet, and she successfully showed us just how it’s done at the Oscars. She was definitely channeling her inner Miranda Priestly when she chose this stunning ensemble from Lanvin.

Oscars_Emma-Stone

So I know everyone didn’t love this look on Emma Stone, but I thought she rocked the color. This custom Elie Saab dress had a gorgeous plunging back and was a fun way for her to glam it up on the carpet.

Oscars_Edie-Redmayne

Can we talk about how cute Eddie Redmayne is? He was definitely the best dressed man at the Oscars (as well as the best actor winner) and totally nailed it in his navy and black Alexander McQueen suit (his wife was also wearing McQueen). There is only so much you can do with a tuxedo and he executed this look perfectly.

Worst-DressedOscars_Jennifer-Aniston

Unfortunately, I have to talk about the stars that I was not so fond of. I really wanted to love Jennifer Aniston, but her dress was revealing WAY too much and the color totally washed her out.

Oscars_Keira-Knightly

I really don’t understand what is going on with Keira Knightly this red carpet season. I think she has been having some serious trouble dressing her bump, and this look just doesn’t work for her.

Oscars_Jared-Leto

Jared Leto’s suit looked identical to the one my dad wore when he got married in the 1970’s. I appreciate that he’s pushing the envelope, but this was just too weird for me.
