It’s that time again! With fall right around the corner, it’s time to start transitioning into the season and shopping for pieces that will take your wardrobe to the next level. I’ve pulled my four favorite fall trends and some picks for you to shop right now!
WCIU_Plaid
Plaid, tartan, you name it– it’s having a moment on the runways. The fabric is seen on everything from coats to pants and boots, allowing very interesting ways to wear the pattern this Fall.  And despite being a pattern, plaid is extremely versatile in terms of mixing textures. Pair with leather for rocker-chic style, suede for boho, or even another pattern, like leopard, for an eclectic look.
Plaid on plaid is also totally doable. To achieve the look, pair two pieces together that are the same color, or are in the same color family. Wear plaid pants. Patterned pants are ridiculously cool and can be really effortless. All you need is a solid top and a great part of shoes to complete the look. But remember, a little bit of plaid can go a long way. Scarves, shoes, bags, and sunglasses are cool ways to incorporate the trend into your fall wardrobe.

WCIU_1970s-Vibes
The days of disco are making a comeback this fall with bohemian silhouettes, chunky knits, and retro tops.  Ease into the flashback by taking a break from your standard skinnies and replace them with flares. Elongate your legs by wearing them with high heels or chic wedges.
Make suede your new favorite fabric! This was the fabric of the 70’s, making appearances in everything from capes to boots and skirts. Suede shorts will transition you from summer to fall and look ulta-chic with tights underneath as the cold sets in. And layer, layer, layer. Get into the boho vibe by layering your favorite pieces in different hemlines or textures to face the cooler weather.

WCIU_ChunkyKnits
Designers are all about the chunky knit this season! Alexander Wang and Altuzarra took the lead on the runways with tons of great pieces that are workable into your wardrobe this season. Balance the bulk with a slimmer silhouette on the bottom, and try a fun monochromatic look with chunky knits– you’ll look chic super chic in this kind of look that plays with proportions.
Be bright, be bold! The chunky knit looks amazing in neon colors, another fall trend, and can be paired with neutral pieces to make it the star of the show. Still transitioning from summer? Layer a chunky, oversized knit with your favorite skirt and boots!

WCIU_DenimDarling
Denim cutoffs and chambray dresses have had a huge moment this summer and sometimes letting go of the trends we loved in one season as we transition into another can be rough. I’m making sure some of my favorite chambray pieces are making the transition right along with me into fall.
Denim and chambray pieces are as versatile as they get—so pair them with your favorite fall trends above, like a denim high-waisted skirt for  those 70’s vibes, with a plaid coat to keep warm, or with a chunky knit sweater. Your favorite chambray dress just got cooler (pun intended) with chic boots and a great coat.
