If you haven’t tried Sweethearts’ candy yet, you are definitely missing out on the true spirit of Valentine’s Day! While most reactions are either “love it” or “hate it” we are still enamored by the pastel hues and iconic shape.
We love this Valentine’s Day favorite so much that we turned it into sugar cookies and created our own, bigger version of the standard candy that many of us have come to know and love using a heart cookie cutter and word stamps. Use your own homemade sugar dough or take a shortcut with store-bought dough. Either way—these are too cute to pass up!
Conversation Heart Cookies
- Prep time: 30min
instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and split your dough into four separate bowls. Add drops of food coloring to make your favorite hue - we made pink, yellow, blue and purple. Use your hands to mix until the colors are fully incorporated into each.
- Place the dough in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Next, roll out your dough until it is about ¼ inch thick. Use a heart cookie cutter to cut the dough into shapes and stamp with the word stamps. Next, place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Allow to cool and enjoy with your little valentines!
