While most people are aware of Breast Cancer, many are not aware of the steps that can be taken to detect it early. October serves as Breast Cancer Awareness month to further educate people about the disease. It’s extremely important for women to create an early detection plan.
This includes self breast exams, clinical breast exams, and regular mammograms. When breast cancer is detected in its early stages the survival rate is 98%. I’m so thankful for these amazing companies that donate proceeds from their sales to support Breast Cancer Research. Check out my favorites below and see how you can join the fight against breast cancer and enter to win my #CorriCares giveaway!

My mother in law is fighting breast cancer. I have been her caretaker and her biggest supporter. Fighting Breast Cancer isn’t easy but with the love and support of friends and family anything is possible. We have used her story to help motivate others to get mammograms and do self breast exams. Awareness is key to fighting this ugly disease!

I have lupus and while my focus is on taking care of my immune system, breast cancer awareness is important too. I’m past due for a mammogram and while the number is busy to schedule an appointment, I have to keep trying because getting a mammogram is a part of women’s health as a whole.

Keep trying girl! It’s so important.

Honestly, I am involved with so many organizations that I have not looked much into Breast Cancer awareness as of late BUT I do offer walkers/racers once a year a free 30 minute massage when they do any sort of cancer research supporting race in the early portion of the year!
cm
That’s an awesome incentive! Any type of cancer research makes all the difference in the world.

My maternal grandmother had a mastectomy when I was 18, she lived a beautiful life til the age of 86, my sister in law has been BC free for over 13 years and my best friend since junior high had her last surgery 2 weeks ago since having a double mastectomy 2 years ago. I’m amazed at the strength they have all shown me and their families. I’m more conscience of the different needs people have when going thru extreme treatments. I support my family and friends in ways that help them as individuals. I support my community, purchasing a Pink Flamingo each year to be placed in a mass at our city park, city building property and city museum. Each year the flock grows. Thank you for offering us a chance to participate in this beautiful gift

With relatives who have passed from this disease, I am careful to get mammograms and ultrasounds and encourage my friends to do the same.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve lost relatives to this horrible disease. Early detection is so important and it’s wonderful that you are participating in BCA by encouraging your friends to get regular check-ups. This could be lifesaving!

My mom died way to young and to fast from breast cancer. Her message was to be checked early and often especially if there is a family history. We participate in the annual cancer walks to pledge money and I also think Locks Of Love is a great charity.

I’m so sorry for your loss. What a great way to honor your mother’s memory!

I am 51 and have two autoimmune diseases and other related chronic illnesses and a family history of breast cancer. Since I am mainly concerned with keeping my chronic illnesses under control, I have a diagnostic mammogram once a year and due to my having dense breasts an ultrasound every six months. I also try to do a self check monthly so if my immune system were to get low and cancer were to happen, hopefully it would get caught with all these checks in place.

You are an inspiration to everyone!

I participate by making cupcakes with pink frosting and my son sells them at school. We donate all the money too the research . 🙂
