Legos in My Louis is a Rad Mom on Glitter and Bubbles.
Betsy lives in sunny San Diego — SO jelly — with her husband and littles, 3-year old Summer and 2 year old Cal. Whether it’s musing about fashion, playing at the beach or simply surviving two toddlers, Betsy is basically the mama friend you want to have on speed dial (or in your Instagram feed) for a little beauty, a good laugh and a healthy dose of sarcasm!

Little’s Names & Ages: Summer, 3 & Cal, 2. You are reading those ages correctly; my extremely active kiddos are only 18 months apart.  Normal in our house sits constantly on the brink of chaos.  My kids are absolutely exhausting yet more fun than I could have ever dreamed up.  I could rattle off a laundry list of crazy antics they have put me through (did you know that a tennis ball fits perfect down into a tailpipe?) but at the end of the day the craziness doesn’t matter and instead makes colorful stories and funny memories.
Top Beauty Product You Must Have as a Mom: The top two products I would want on a desert island with me are Trader Joe’s Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and Crème De La Mer Moisturizing Crème.  If the juxtapose of my two answers doesn’t prove that great beauty products exist at all price points, I don’t know what does.
Favorite Lipstick Color: Lipstick is a total must for me!  I need the color on my lips to not look washed out but I also like to maintain a more natural look.  My go to lipstick is Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Color in Pink Dusk.  It’s the perfect pink for anyone with fair skin and golden blonde hair.
Top 3 Pieces Of Baby or Kids Gear: My #1 piece of “baby gear” would be my diaper bag…my Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote, lol!  I hated the idea of spending a few hundred bucks on a diaper bag when I really wanted to be carrying my bag.  I found the perfect marriage in my Neverfull tote.  I can just throw a Lululemon shopping bag filled with kids stuff into my purse and their necessities are with me but easily separated from my essentials.
As a family who is always on the go, we eat at restaurants a lot. Having kids be “well-mannered” in restaurants takes practice and preparation. I always keep a bag of TEGU Magnetic Blocks in my purse.  They are a great small and quiet toy the kids get to play with only at restaurants or public places where they need to be self contained.
My kiddos love the beach.  Getting wet sand off layers of sunscreen on a toddler is generally so difficult unless you have a Sand Off Mitt.  I use a Sand Off Mitt from Amazon that is filled with baby powder.  All you have to do is wipe it along your skin and the cement like sand rolls right off without any fuss from your toddlers.
Favorite Kids Clothing Brand: For little boy clothes I love shopping at Nordstrom Rack. I always come across a great selection of Quicksilver for my little beach bum, Peek Kids shirts and shoes.
For fashionable girls I love Moderne Child.  Whenever I need a super stylish outfit for Summer, Moderne Child is my first and only stop. For everyday wear Summer only wants soft dresses that twirl. Fab Kids has a great and well priced selection of dresses and outfits that are perfect for preschool.
Activity You Love To Do With Your Littles: My very active kids and their very active mom are at our best outside of the house.  You’ll find us running around Sea World on a Monday morning like it’s our private park and out again in the afternoon at the pool or beach soaking up every last ounce of daylight.  We ride the trolley without a destination and have pretty much explored every square mile of San Diego.
Your Secret Obsession When You Get an Hour to Yourself: If I have a full hour to myself I will definitely go to yoga.  Yoga is my happy place and the second I cross the threshold into the studio and roll my mat out, I’ve left everything behind. Nothing can touch me there and by the time my class wraps up I feel centered and ready for whatever the day can throw at me.
Closet Staple That You Can’t Live Without: If my Instagram handle didn’t give it away, my staple is a Louis Vuitton bag.  I have no problem buying a luxury item when I know I will use it for years if not decades to come.  But it’s important to know where to splurge and where to save. You can wear head to toe Target or Old Navy but when you pair it with a nice bag the whole look is instantly elevated.
Favorite Dessert Recipe to Make for Your Littles: My favorite recipe to make with the kids is a French Yogurt Cake.  I got the recipe from the Book Bringing Up Bebe.  If you haven’t read the book, it’s as good if not better than the cake itself.  The recipe is very forgiving and simple enough that a 3 year old could nearly execute alone (with supervision). If you are a tea drinker like me, this cake is a perfect post nap activity for tea time. Click here to get the recipe.
