No one wants to look older. Unfortunately, I see beauty mistakes everyday that do just that. I don’t want you to be one of those people so I’m here to help!
While it’s easy to pile on layer after layer of foundation and concealer, the unfortunate fact is that it will actually amplify what you are trying to cover. Caked on makeup also settles into fine lines, making things worse than they were before you started your makeup! But don’t worry, the fix is easy. First, if it’s been a few years since you’ve updated your foundation, go do it now! Gone are the thick formulas that feel like you’re wearing a mask, today’s formulas are so light (make no mistake, they give great coverage!) that you will forget you have makeup on.
My all-time favorite is Giorgio Armani’s Maestro foundation, it is truly a miracle worker! Also, take a step back from that mirror. It’s easy to hone in on one problem spot but you have to see the whole picture. In this case, less is more!
Although choker necklaces are making a comeback, they do have a drawback. They bring attention to the neck, which is one of the first places to show signs of aging. A longer necklace is an easy solution, and there are so many options at all price points. The hardest part will be making a choice!
Slicked back hair has been runways the past few seasons, and unfortunately that’s where it should stay. Not only is it tricky to pull off (it can very easily look dirty and not sleek), but it draws attention to every single fine line and wrinkle on the face. A good option is one with some volume that makes hair look thick and youthful.
We’ve all seen them — women who seem to have pulled their outfit from their teenage daughter’s closet. There’s a point where a leather miniskirt just isn’t appropriate anymore, and neither are the midriff tops that once were. Knowing how to dress one’s age is essential, and is one of the pieces to the puzzle to aging gracefully. That’s not to say you shouldn’t pay attention to trends or wear only baggy clothes. You can be stylish, it’s just about knowing what works for you and your body type.
