I know the holiday season is in full swing and you have a TON to do, but if your house is anything like mine that doesn’t mean that your little(s) are willing to chill while you work on your list. Nope, they want to get out and have some fun, and who can blame them?! Here’s a great list of things you can do with your crew to burn some of that energy off (Santa sightings included!). Hey, the internet was invented for late night shopping, right?!
Holiday Breakfast at the Shedd: Still need to check that visit with Santa off your list? Make a morning out of it with the Shedd’s Holiday Breakfast. Not only can the littles see Santa, but they’ll get to see a show or two (one being a movie about a special reindeer) and indulge in some hot chocolate! Get the full rundown and tickets here.
Santa Suite at the Swisshotel: Zelda and I have seen the Santa Suite firsthand, and it is amazing! Santa and Mrs. Claus are there to take photos with the babes, there are some yummy snacks and your babe can even write a letter to Santa. Santa will be at the suite on Saturday, December 10th from 11am to 4pm and Saturday, December 17th from 1-4pm. Did we mention it’s free?! Make sure you check this one out!
Toy Drive at the 900 Shops: On December 10th from 12-4pm, the 900 Shops will be hosting a Toy Drive on the 6th floor of Bloomingdales. Every kid that brings in a brand new, wrapped toy will receive a balloon animal!
Cookie Party at The Kids Table: The Kids Table is hosting holiday cookie parties throughout the month at their two locations. Take a look at the many options; they have activities for both kids and families if the whole crew wants to join in!
Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier: This really is a winter wonderland! They have everything — ice skating, rides, treats and more. Whether you live in Chicago or are visiting, this is a winter must see! Tickets are $23 for adults and kids over three feet (they give you $2 off for buying online!), see all of the options and purchase tickets here.
Happy Play Cafe: Since the cold is officially here to stay, every mom needs a great indoor activity in her playbook. Enter Happy Play, where littles can interact with bunnies and birds in this awesome Lincoln Park space! Call and double check their hours before you go, they close for private events sometimes, and it’s $15 per child.
If you’re in warm, sunny L.A., we are so jealous here in Chicago! I’m guessing you might need a break from the holiday craziness too, so here are some fun things to do this weekend. Soak up the sunshine for us!
California Science Center: Inquisitive babes will love exploring this science filled destination, especially the Pixar exhibit! General admission is free, but the Pixar exhibit requires tickets (they say you should buy them in advance), which you can get here.
Santa Monica Pier: A day at the beach is always necessary! If you need more on the agenda than just chilling in the sand and sunshine (I get it!), check out Santa Monica Pier. There’s a ton to do for the whole family, and I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a very quiet car ride on the way home!
