Zelda and I are living that #lakelife this weekend, but for those of you still in the city there is plenty to do. We’ve got a few dinosaur fanatic friends who will flip over the Jurassic World exhibition and dollar movies are the perfect remedy for those steamy days Chicago has been having. I’m also making note of Jeni’s new birthday program, as a certain babe has one coming up!

$1 Movies at Regal Cinema in Logan Square: All summer long the Regal Cinema in Logan Square hosts Summer Movie Express with showings of your favorite movies for just one dollar. They run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the films change week to week. Next Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday the 19th they are showing Rio 2 and The Boxtrolls. Call the theater to double check showtimes!
The Madagascar Musical at Navy Pier: This just opened on Thursday, and is sure to be a hit for fans of the movie! Tickets range from $22-34 and can be purchased here. Just a heads up, the show runs for a little over an hour and does not have an intermission, so prepare accordingly with your crew!
Build For A Cause at Legoland: Legoland in Schaumburg is swapping out their bricks for brand new ones, which means there are a TON of old bricks that need new homes! But these aren’t going in the trash, they are going to be donated. Through the end of the month little builders can go to the second floor, pick one of four organizations and use their imaginations to create something magical to donate to their selected charity.
Summer Nature Fest at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum: On Wednesday, July 19th from 5pm to 8pm, have some fun at Summer Nature Fest at the Nature Museum in Lincoln Park. It’s free and has a ton of activities for the whole family. You do need to RSVP, which you can do here.
