School has started, pumpkin spice lattes are here and Halloween decorations are popping up in stores. Whether I like it or not, that chill in the air means fall is coming and I just can’t wrap my head around it. I’m not ready to say goodbye to rooftops and ice cream dates with my babe, but autumn brings it’s own magic. Zelda is really into playing dress up, which is going to make Halloween so much fun this year!
Like every parent, I hate spending an exorbitant amount of money on a poorly made costume whose chances of making it to the end of trick or treating are slim at best. So I decided I was going to enlist my girl Sarah from Redeux Kids to make Zelda a bad ass costume (stay tuned to see what it is!). Zelda and I love Redeux Kids because Sarah crafts amazing pieces (not just for Halloween!) from previously loved, gorgeous vintage garments and turns them into something fresh that Zelda begs to wear again and again. Right now Sarah is taking orders for Halloween, so email her at sarah@redeuxkidz.com NOW!
And who says Zelda can’t hit up the playground dressed as a pirate or walk around the city as Princess Zelda?! Memories like this are what make childhood so magical, and I treasure every moment. The other day Zelda and I decided that we were going to celebrate Halloween the entire month of October, all while building up her dress up closet. With custom pieces like this pirate ensemble (also from Redeux) it’s shaping up nicely!
