Over the last few weeks our social calendar has really started to fill up. I don’t know if the warmer weather has been motivating people or what, but I’m already getting invites for events in mid-July! It’s about time I start planning Zelda’s next birthday party, if you can believe it! That being said, I’ve pulled some awesome things for you to do this weekend, and also a few in the coming weeks that you’ll need to jump on if you’re interested since they will fill up! Don’t wait and take this as your friendly reminder so you aren’t left out of the fun!

Hello Kitty Cafe Truck: If your babe (or you!) are Hello Kitty fans, this one is for you! The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is going to be at Oakbrook Center Mall this weekend from 10am to 8pm on both Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th. The truck is going to be filled with tons of sweet treats, so don’t miss out! It will be an Instagram-worthy experience.
Mr. Dave Baby Rave: Kids eight and under can dance at Mr. Dave’s music space on Division, complete with glow sticks, balloons and more on Saturday, June 10th at 11am. DJ Matt Roan will set the beat and they’ll also have Magical Myster AJ on hand for some magic tricks! Tickets are $10 per person (if babes are under 11 months they don’t need a ticket) and you can get them here. Don’t wait though, I’m pretty sure the last baby rave sold out!
Mr. Singer at Lincoln Park Zoo: Every Wednesday and Friday at 9:15am and 10am, Mr. Singer takes the stage at Lincoln Park Zoo. This free event takes place at the Farm in the Zoo and afterwards you can visit your little’s favorite zoo resident!
Father’s Day BBQ at the Museum of Science and Industry: If you’re looking for some sweet Father’s Day plans (it’s just around the corner!) the Museum of Science and Industry is hosting a Father’s Day BBQ Brunch that looks pretty fantastic! On Sunday, June 18th the whole crew can celebrate dad with yummy food and a morning at the museum. They have two different seating options available, and ticket can be purchased here. Make sure you get them by June 9th, after that you won’t be able to and they don’t allow purchases at the door!
Oui Chef: This adorably named kids cooking school just opened up in Lincoln Park, and they offer classes for kids as young as 18 months and as old as 18 years! This is perfect for little foodies and a fun way for kids to get comfortable in the kitchen. They offer both classes and camps, for a better idea of how it works check out their website!
Printers Row Lit Fest: Summer in Chicago means festival season is officially underway! One of the first for the season is Printers Row Lit Fest, and it’s not just for adults. They have everything from readings to yoga for littles on both Saturday, June 10th and Sunday, June 11th. Take a look at the full schedule here, and if you just want to view the kid’s activities, make sure you check “Lil Lit Park” on the lefthand sidebar.
It’s been a while since we’ve traveled to Colorado, and I think Zelda and I are about due for a visit. I love the landscape and there’s so much to do — that candy factory is calling my name!

Hammond’s Candy: This candy factory has been around for almost a hundred years, so you know it is something special to have that kind of staying power! In addition to their sweet treats, they also offer tours Monday though Saturday.
The Restaurant Scene: Denver has no shortage of delicious restaurants! There’s a food hall in an old printing factory with something for everyone’s taste buds. The activity based space Punch Bowl is also on our bucket list!
