Can you believe Sunday is already Mother’s Day? Time flies when you’re shuttling kids, cooking dinner and of course, having fun along the way! If Sunday snuck up on you and Mother’s Day weekend plans haven’t been made, don’t worry. I have six ideas for you that your whole crew will love. Mother’s Day Family Brunch at The Kids’ Table: If your family loves to cook, this brunch is for you! Head to Kids’ Table in Lakeview or Wicker Park at 10am to cook frittatas, salad and an extra yummy dessert with your crew! It costs $25 per person. Be sure to sign up ahead of time!
Mother’s Day Cruises at Navy Pier: Cruises are an out of the ordinary surprise for mom! Three ships depart from Navy Pier on Sunday for her special day. Each offers something different, so take a peek and see what she will love most! Zelda loves going on these (yes, we’ve been on a few!) and if you’ve never been, now is the time.
Mother’s Day Brunch at Lincoln Park Zoo: This event is guaranteed to sell out, but as of right now tickets are still available for the 8am slot. Spend the morning eating brunch at Cafe Brauer and then visit the animals! Click here to purchase tickets.
Tea at Vanille Patisserie: Available at the Lincoln Park location, tea time requires a reservation that must be made at least two days in advance (so don’t wait to book!). If your group is large enough you can request seating in the private salon where you can enjoy desserts, tea sandwiches and more!
From Science Fiction to Science Fact at the Museum of Science of Industry: On Saturday, May 13th beginning at 11am, two scientists from NASA will be at MSI to talk about science and so much more. The event is free with basic admission and is better fold older children. Tickets cost less when you purchase online.
Mother’s Day Watercolor Painting at Land of Nod: At Land of Nod’s North and Clybourn store on Saturday the 13th, little artists can learn how to paint with watercolors from Tiffany Wong. This is a great chance for them to get creative and make something mom will love! You do need to RSVP, and can do so here.
