How to Spend 4th of July Weekend in Chicago!

It makes me a little sad that it’s already  4th of July weekend, where does the time go?! If you’re in Chicago you know we say the holiday is the halfway mark for summer. Sad as it is, that’s all the more reason to get out there, make the most of it and have a blast! The fireworks at Navy Pier are always a solid choice, but if that’s not your thing there’s plenty more to fill your day (or just fill the gaps). It’s also a good idea to take a look at your summer bucket list and see if there’s anything you want to check off or at least get in motion before the season ends!

Fireworks at Navy Pier: The evening’s big fireworks show starts at 9:30pm, and is not to be missed! If your up for it, head to Navy Pier for the show or if you’re lucky enough to be able to catch it from your balcony or living room, I envy you!

Farmer’s Market at the MCA: If you’ve got party plans later in the day, stop by the farmer’s market and pickup the fresh ingredients you’ll need to make your signature dish! It’s right by the Museum of Contemporary Art, starting bright and early at 7am and goes until 2pm.

Independence Day Salute Concert at Millennium Park: Looking for something a little more chill to fill your evening? There’s a Fourth of July themed concert in Millennium Park and it is the perfect opportunity to hang in the park with your babes while lounging on a blanket and eating some snacks!

Cubs Game: If you’ve been meaning to go to a Cubs game this summer and just haven’t yet, why not go watch them take on Tampa Bay?! Ticket prices vary, you can view the options and get started here.

Freedom Fest at Navy Pier: Did you know Navy Pier had a rooftop? I didn’t, and I also didn’t know they’ve been doing Freedom Fest for the past four years! This fest is for the whole family (which is amazing). It begins at 6:15pm and tickets are $39 per person — you can see exactly what that gets you here! It does say that prices will increase as it gets closer to the holiday, so don’t wait if you want to go!

Family Fun Festival at Millennium Park: This is an ongoing summer event that is free, and changes a little from week to week. It’s in Millennium Park, specifically in Chase Promenade North from 10am to 2pm. If you can’t make it on the 4th they are doing this through August 23rd!
